I’m proud to stand with this amazing group of union leaders at CMG Workers United, as we imagine a better union here for all. Moving CMG into a more mobilized workforce will garner better results in our workplace, and a sense of community. Let’s create stronger bonds between us and leave divisiveness behind.

Members are the ultimate authority in our union, so we need to prioritize efforts to mobilize and support those on the floor. To that end, I’d like to continue the work begun in my first term as CBC Branch President, building capacity at the local level, and connecting members to their union.  That means ensuring that Location Unit leaders have what they need to engage and support their colleagues, and offering training and mentorship to develop even more union involvement among us. 

‍I run on my track record. In the past three years we’ve trained record numbers of stewards across the country, and there’s full rosters of Local Executive Committees throughout CBC for the first time in well over a decade. Our current CBC Branch Executive Council has improved communications with regular newsletter updates and virtual general membership meetings when faced with big issues (like bargaining or cuts). Our 2024 bargaining team was able to break us out of the 1.5% wage increase rut, and improve working conditions — like shorter grievance timelines, and easier access to benefits for temps.  

‍But there’s more to do… We need to update our health benefits plan, and mobilize our membership so we can make significant gains in our next round of bargaining beginning in fall 2026. We need to protect public broadcasting in an age when democracies are in peril. Our union has to be seated at the table when big technological changes like AI impact our work.I’m ready to lead our team in these fights.
